Operational review continued Group capabilities

Shared specialist capabilities In-house digital operations and data OCU’s in-house digital and data capability connects frontline operations, workforce activity, job packs, SHEQ, commercial controls and client reporting through integrated platforms. OCU One and the Group Data Platform provide consistent, real-time insight, strengthening workforce deployment, decision-making, safety and operational control while supporting rapid mobilisation and integration across the Group.

Design and engineering Our in-house engineering teams provide feasibility, planning, Front-End Engineering and Design (FEED), detailed design, grid and protection studies, Building Information Modelling (BIM), and digital modelling across all our markets. This capability enables earlier client engagement, improves buildability and supports consistent delivery from concept to construction.

Horizontal directional drilling and trenchless engineering

Multi-utility infrastructure

OCU provides specialist trenchless solutions through one of the UK’s leading large-diameter HDD fleets. Capabilities include directional drilling, auger boring, pipe bursting, microtunnelling, shaft construction and rehabilitation, enabling utilities and cables to cross roads, railways, rivers and sensitive environments with reduced disruption.

We deliver integrated power, water and digital infrastructure through a co-ordinated delivery model. Combining utility requirements can reduce construction time, interfaces, environmental impact and overall cost, particularly across new developments, regeneration schemes and major infrastructure programs.

Integrated program delivery OCU combines design, procurement, construction, commissioning and maintenance within a single delivery model. This allows specialist businesses and market teams to operate together under unified program governance, providing clients with clearer accountability and greater control of safety, quality, schedule and commercial performance. National Operations Centre Our National Operations Centre (NOC) provides 24/7 monitoring, co‑ordination and operational support across critical client networks. Bringing together real-time visibility and dedicated operational expertise, the NOC helps manage incidents, co‑ordinate response activity and maintain service continuity, strengthening the resilience and responsiveness of the infrastructure services we support.

Lifecycle maintenance and asset optimisation

Our capabilities extend beyond initial construction into inspection, planned and reactive maintenance, refurbishment, upgrades and end-of-life services. This supports long-term client relationships while helping infrastructure owners maintain performance, strengthen resilience and extend the productive life of critical assets.
