23 OCU Group Annual report and financial statements 2026
Operational review continued
United Kingdom
One territory. Four markets. Integrated delivery.
OCU Group plans, mobilises and delivers work close to clients and local operations, but increasingly drawing on capability from across the Group. Within the UK, the review is therefore organised around four markets: • Power Transmission & Distribution • Energy Transformation • Digital Infrastructure • Water & Environmental The reporting lens has changed, but the operating heritage remains important. OCU Utilities continues to provide scale, regional density and framework disciplines that underpin delivery. OCU Energy, including OCU Trenchless and RJ McLeod, contributes project leadership and established delivery capability across battery energy storage, onshore wind and solar infrastructure, alongside high‑voltage engineering, grid connections and specialist HDD capability. RJ McLeod retains its identity, leadership and deep roots in Scotland while working increasingly across the wider Group.
Within the year, acquired businesses now operate less as separate stores of capabilities and more as connected parts of a single delivery platform. FY26 provided visible evidence of that progression. Acquired companies supplied engineering for pre-enablement, design, mechanical and electrical engineering, process expertise, overhead-line delivery and horizontal directional drilling into programs contracted elsewhere in the Group. OCU has delivered visible integration: capabilities, people and equipment moving to where clients need them, while accountability for delivery remains clear. The UK remains the Group’s primary operating base and the principal source of regulated framework activity, specialist energy projects and recurring maintenance. Across the four markets, the common priorities are consistent: safe and dependable delivery; disciplined contract selection; deeper client relationships; greater self-delivery; and careful integration of acquired capability. The outlook is supported by long-term investment in electricity networks, generation and storage, water resilience, fibre maintenance and data-centre infrastructure.
