Water and wastewater infrastructure
Reservoirs and strategic water storage
We construct, upgrade and renew clean water and wastewater infrastructure. Our capabilities include pipelines, treatment assets, pumping infrastructure, network reinforcement and associated civil works, helping water companies improve resilience, environmental performance and the reliability of essential services. Water and wastewater design Our specialist teams provide concept development, feasibility studies, front-end engineering, detailed design and delivery support across water and wastewater infrastructure. This early-stage capability improves buildability and enables OCU to support clients from initial project definition through construction and commissioning.
We support the construction and upgrade of reservoirs and associated water-transfer infrastructure. Our services include enabling works, pipelines, structural civils, mechanical and electrical systems and commissioning, helping clients increase storage capacity and strengthen long-term water supply resilience. MEICA and process engineering We deliver mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, control and automation solutions for water and wastewater assets. Our integrated engineering capability supports treatment processes, pumping systems, operational controls and asset upgrades, improving performance, compliance and whole-life efficiency.
Modular wastewater treatment
Network and aqueduct maintenance, leakage and asset replacement We provide planned and reactive maintenance across clean water and wastewater networks. Our work includes leak detection, emergency response, pipeline repair, asset replacement and network renewal, supporting service continuity while helping clients reduce water loss and improve operational performance. Urban infrastructure and public realm We deliver targeted public-realm works, including active-travel routes, sustainable drainage, access improvements and associated urban infrastructure. These projects frequently form part of broader energy, resilience and regeneration programs, helping create better-connected and more sustainable communities.
OCU designs and delivers modular wastewater treatment systems for targeted capacity, resilience and environmental requirements. These solutions can be deployed efficiently within operational environments and integrated with existing assets, providing clients with a flexible approach to treatment upgrades and network growth. Water/flood defences and drainage We deliver urban and rural flood-risk mitigation, strengthening OCU’s wider Water & Environmental offering. Our capabilities include embankments, retention ponds, culverts, flood walls, sustainable drainage, coastal protection and catchment management.
Heat networks We deliver heat network infrastructure and
associated mechanical engineering through our specialist capability. Our services support the installation of heat networks and connected energy infrastructure, helping clients develop efficient, lower-carbon heating solutions for communities, developments and major estates.
