Why we engage Infrastructure transformation must be delivered responsibly, with impacts managed and assets built and maintained for long-term resilience. How we engage Sustainability reporting, environmental assessments, project environmental plans, regulatory engagement, industry collaboration and data-led monitoring of plant, fleet and resources. Board engagement Oversight of sustainability strategy, climate-related risk, environmental performance, targets, compliance and investment, with updates from operational, SHEQ and sustainability leaders. How we respond We embedded environmental considerations into project delivery, supported lower-impact construction methods, improved fleet and asset utilisation through data, and strengthened our capability to maintain, upgrade and extend the life of critical assets.

A capable, aligned supply chain increases delivery capacity, provides specialist expertise and supports responsive local delivery. How we engage Structured onboarding and due diligence, safety and commercial briefings, supplier forums, performance reviews, ethical standards and digital payment and compliance processes. Board engagement Review of supply chain resilience, capacity, performance, commercial exposure, responsible sourcing and key partner relationships, supported by operational and commercial leadership. How we respond We reinforced the Commercial Conduct framework and commercial principles, strengthened subcontract controls and expanded data-led oversight. Partners are expected to operate to OCU’s safety, quality, ethical and delivery standards.

Our work affects communities directly and can create lasting value through employment, skills, social investment and resilient infrastructure. How we engage Client-aligned social value plans, local recruitment, early careers partnerships, community events, volunteering, the OCU Foundation and engagement with veterans and service leavers. Board engagement Oversight of the OCU Foundation, community investment, social value activity, regional employment initiatives and the local impact of major projects and programs. How we respond We continued to invest in local employment and skills, strengthened links with universities and colleges, supported charitable activity and maintained our commitment to the Armed Forces community, applying these principles across a wider UK and international footprint.
