Business model continued

Through an integrated asset-lifecycle model and a growing international platform, we help clients build, connect, renew and maintain the critical infrastructure needed to meet rising demand, strengthen resilience and support a lower‑carbon future.

Distributed operating model Our operating model provides the Group with a consistent way to deliver safely, commercially, and responsibly at scale. It combines locally empowered regional leadership with Group-wide standards, specialist capability and integrated digital systems. The same model supports recurring frameworks, complex projects and newly acquired businesses, enabling responsive decision-making while maintaining clear accountability across the UK and our growing international platform. Health and safety Safety is our first value. Visible leadership, Stop Work Authority, positive interventions and consistent SHEQ standards empower every person to act, while digital reporting and shared learning help identify risk earlier. Operational excellence Locally empowered teams make decisions close to delivery, supported by common processes, specialist resources and real‑time data. This combines regional responsiveness with Group-wide control and predictable outcomes. People We attract, develop, and retain the technical, operational, and leadership capabilities needed for growth. Academies, early‑career routes and structured development strengthen skills, ownership, and accountability. Commercial discipline We select work carefully and manage it rigorously from bid to final account. Defined governance, cross‑functional oversight and contract-level data support disciplined risk management and sustainable value. Environment We design and deliver with environmental impact in mind, reducing disruption, resource use, and carbon emissions wherever practicable while enabling more resilient energy, water, and digital infrastructure. Clients We build long-term partnerships through safe delivery, technical expertise and open communication. Understanding each client’s assets, standards, and priorities helps us respond quickly and continuously improve outcomes.

Commission

Maintain

Commissioning turns completed infrastructure into safe, reliable and operational assets. Our teams plan for connection, energisation and operational readiness from the earliest design stages. We integrate systems, complete testing and assurance, verify performance and co‑ordinate handover against client and regulatory requirements. This in-house capability is particularly important where regulated networks and privately owned assets meet, helping reduce interface risk and provide continuity from construction into operation. Capabilities: • Commissioning strategy and readiness planning • System integration, connection and energisation • Testing, inspection and technical validation • Protection, control, automation and SCADA verification • Performance, safety and compliance assurance • Client training, operational handover and asset‑data integration

Maintenance protects performance, extends asset life and strengthens long-term resilience. We support assets through planned, preventative and reactive maintenance, inspection, refurbishment and performance improvement. Condition data and digital workflows help identify issues earlier, reduce downtime and prioritise intervention. Our regional teams and 24/7 National Operations Centre provide responsive support, while upgrade, repowering and asset optimisation capabilities help clients extend asset life, improve reliability and manage whole-life cost. Capabilities: • Planned, preventative and reactive maintenance • 24/7 fault response and operational co‑ordination • Inspection, condition monitoring and predictive analytics • Asset optimisation and performance enhancement • Upgrades, refurbishment and repowering • Safety, quality and compliance assurance • Lifecycle data and workforce management through OCU One • End-of-life planning and decommissioning support
