Business model
OCU Group’s business model combines long-term infrastructure frameworks with project delivery across Power Transmission & Distribution, Energy Transformation, Digital Infrastructure, and Water & Environmental.
Vision and mission OCU enables the transformation of energy and utilities infrastructure by bringing together the capabilities, people and systems needed to deliver safely from first concept through to long-term operation. Our model combines deep utilities experience with specialist engineering and disciplined delivery. Long‑term frameworks provide continuity and strengthen local delivery, while selected projects leverage our broader technical capabilities and create future maintenance opportunities. During FY26, the model advanced materially. We expanded our UK power transmission presence, strengthened heat network capability and established an integrated platform across Australia and New Zealand through three complementary businesses. This extended our reach while retaining common standards and a clear focus on markets where our expertise creates the greatest value. In-house design and engineering, high-voltage connections, specialist civils, horizontal directional drilling, commissioning and maintenance are supported by regional teams and integrated digital platforms. Our mission is to deliver critical infrastructure safely, efficiently and responsibly. By combining local responsiveness with Group-wide commercial, operational and safety disciplines, we provide a scalable platform for long-term infrastructure investment in the UK and internationally. Business model Across design, build, commissioning and maintenance, our integrated model reduces hand-offs, strengthens accountability and helps clients realise value across the full asset lifecycle.
Design Our design phase turns complex requirements into safe, buildable and maintainable solutions. We combine front-end engineering, technical design and digital modelling to establish the right solution early. Civil, electrical, mechanical and process expertise is co‑ordinated around client outcomes, regulation and site conditions. Involving delivery and commissioning teams from the outset reduces interfaces, improves constructability and creates a clearer route from feasibility to operation. Capabilities: • Feasibility, optioneering and front-end engineering • Civil, electrical, mechanical and process design • Grid, protection and power-system studies • BIM, 3D modelling and digital engineering • Design for buildability, commissioning and maintenance • Technical assurance, compliance and design management
Build
Build combines specialist self‑delivery with disciplined project control.
Regional teams mobilise local capability, specialist plant and an established supply chain to deliver safely and predictably. In-house expertise in high‑voltage systems, specialist civils, HDD, M&E and process installation improves control of quality and interfaces. Common commercial, SHEQ and digital standards support consistent delivery in the UK and internationally. Capabilities: • Program and project management • Procurement and supply chain management • High-voltage substations, connections and power infrastructure • Balance of plant and specialist civils • HDD and trenchless installation • M&E, process and digital infrastructure installation • Quality assurance and regulatory compliance
