Building the platform The operation benefits from regional leadership, governance and support established during FY26, while client, resource and delivery decisions remain grounded in New Zealand. Apprenticeship and graduate pathways will help strengthen electrical, engineering, project management and operational capability over time. Looking ahead The forward priority is to build from the Rolleston base and the Te Rāhui delivery reference. OCU will apply the wider platform’s governance, commercial discipline and specialist support where they add value, while developing local relationships, accreditation and resources in step with confirmed demand.
The solar farm is being developed through a 50:50 joint venture between Meridian Energy and Nova Energy on a former dairy farm, with sheep grazing incorporated beneath the panels. Once complete, it is expected to generate enough clean electricity to power approximately 100,000 homes. AEC is delivering the electrical and cabling works for Beon, with Bam Bam contributing ground engineering. The project demonstrates OCU Group’s ability to co‑ordinate people, plant and supply chains across the Tasman while building a stronger delivery presence in New Zealand. Integration in action Te Rāhui combines AEC’s electrical delivery and Bam Bam’s geotechnical expertise. Specialist execution remains within each business, with planning, mobilisation and client interfaces co‑ordinated through the regional platform. This provides a practical basis for developing the New Zealand operation from work already secured and in delivery.
