Operational review continued Group territories introduction

Capability across the asset lifecycle OCU’s service offering extends from design and engineering through delivery and commissioning to repair, maintenance and asset optimisation. This breadth enables the Group to take responsibility for larger and more integrated scopes, while maintaining a disciplined approach to the work it undertakes. OCU focuses on areas in which it has relevant technical expertise, delivery experience and the ability to understand and manage risk. Specialist capabilities include design engineering, low to extra‑high voltage capabilities across overhead lines, cable and substations, mechanical and electrical installation, complex civil engineering, piling and foundations, and horizontal directional drilling. These capabilities are supported by regional delivery teams and by Group platforms that improve workforce control, commercial reporting, safety management and operational insight. Bringing these capabilities together brings better value and reduces the number of interfaces a client is required to manage. It can also improve accountability, shorten decision‑making and provide greater control over quality, sequencing and program delivery. The territory reviews that follow demonstrate how this model is being applied across four consistent disciplines: Power Transmission & Distribution, Energy Transformation, Digital Infrastructure, and Water & Environmental.

Introducing the territory reviews Each territory review is structured to provide a clear and comparable assessment of the business. Capabilities explain what OCU currently delivers, where activities sit across the asset lifecycle and how specialist expertise supports differentiation. Market analysis considers the structural drivers of investment, the maturity of relevant markets and the relationship between regulated expenditure, private capital and long-term infrastructure requirements. Key case studies provide evidence of the operating model in practice. They show how OCU combines local delivery, technical expertise, commercial control and Group-wide support to address complex client requirements. Taken together, the reviews present an established and diversified UK platform alongside a growing ANZ business with clear strategic relevance. Both territories are connected by a common model: local accountability, disciplined contract selection, specialist capability, strong safety standards and integrated operational support. This model provides OCU with a measured route to continued growth. It preserves the benefits of proximity and local ownership while creating the consistency, visibility and control required to deliver safely and effectively across an increasingly international Group.
