Safety is the foundation that enables everything we do At OCU, safety is the principle that underpins every decision we make. As we continue to expand our capabilities across Energy Transformation, Power Transmission & Distribution, Water & Environmental and Digital Infrastructure, our commitment to protecting people remains constant. Safety begins with leadership and is embedded throughout our governance framework. It is the first and most important item discussed at all Board, executive and leadership meetings and remains central to planning, mobilisation and delivery activities across the Group. This visible commitment helps create a culture where safe outcomes are prioritised alongside operational performance and client service. Our approach is built on personal responsibility and collective accountability. Every colleague is empowered to challenge unsafe behaviours, intervene when required and contribute to a culture where everyone looks after one another.

Technology continues to play an increasingly important role in how we manage safety. OCU One provides a single platform for reporting, communication, observations, interventions and workforce engagement, helping create greater visibility across our operations. Combined with real-time operational support and data-driven insight, these capabilities allow us to identify trends, respond quickly and continuously improve performance. Safety leadership that is visible and active Safety is reinforced through continuous training and development, regular site engagement, leadership visits and direct involvement from senior management teams. Our ‘Think Safe + Work Safe = Home Safe’ mindset remains a visible reminder of the standards expected across every project and location. Every employee continues to be supported by Stop Work Authority, ensuring concerns can be raised and addressed immediately.

By creating open dialogue and encouraging participation from all levels of the organisation, we continue to strengthen our collective commitment to safe delivery.
