Metrics and targets continued Scope 1 emissions For OCU, our Scope 1 emissions primarily arise from the combustion of diesel in our plant and transport. We will look to reduce our Scope 1 emissions by: • Developing a transition plan to move our fleet to lower-emission vehicles, including electric and hybrid models. • Driving behaviours such as idling and hard acceleration. • Investing in electric vehicles, with 10% of all new vehicles procured being electric. • Trialling hydrogen plant and vehicles. Scope 2 emissions For OCU, our Scope 2 emissions primarily come from the electricity we use to run our facilities and electric fleet. To address these, OCU has implemented several strategies: • Increasing our procurement of Renewable Energy Guarantees of Origin (REGO) certified renewable energy for our facilities as energy contracts come up for renewal. • Promoting the use of public charging points where REGO certified renewable energy is used. • Implementing energy management systems to monitor and reduce consumption. Scope 3 emissions Scope 3 emissions are all indirect emissions that occur in the value chain of the reporting company, including both upstream and downstream emissions. These are the most challenging to manage but also crucial for a comprehensive GHG reduction strategy. OCU’s approach to Scope 3 emissions includes: • Setting science-based near-term and long-term targets for our Scope 3 emissions through the SBTi. • Identifying our most carbon-intensive products and collaborating with our suppliers to find lower‑carbon alternatives. Continuous improvement and reporting OCU regularly reviews and updates its metrics and targets to ensure they remain relevant and ambitious. By continuously monitoring our performance and engaging with stakeholders, OCU is committed to driving meaningful change and contributing to a more sustainable future.
