OCU Energy review
Overview of OCU Energy OCU Energy continues to expand its role as a trusted infrastructure delivery partner in the UK energy transition through two distinct but integrated operating models. The business supports both Energy Programs and Connection Projects across the non‑regulated energy market. Together, they form a market-leading capability that provides full-lifecycle services from design and build through to commissioning and maintenance. • Our Energy Programs business unit delivers critical infrastructure programs typically above £20m in value. These works often involve high‑voltage, multi‑disciplinary, engineering solutions. • OCU Connect delivers Connection Projects typically below £20m, supporting developers, independent DSOs and clients seeking connections to the grid, often within rapid timeframes. • Both are supported by Group-wide
Structure and operations OCU Energy is structured to operate nationally while enabling focused delivery through regional and specialist teams. Each project and program is overseen by senior project directors with deep technical knowledge supported by specialist teams. Our acquired businesses, including Integrum Power Engineering, Hornbill, Modus, Andrews Associates and McCormack Drilling, are now fully aligned under OCU Energy, enabling joined-up delivery and unified governance. The integration of these teams ensures scalability, quality, and the ability to self‑deliver across disciplines. Future strategy and opportunities OCU Energy is strategically positioned to support the UK’s energy transition and broaden non‑regulated energy infrastructure growth. Our aim is to grow our presence in Energy Programs whilst also expanding OCU Connect's footprint. We are strengthening our relationships with developers, investors, and major utilities to support the delivery of scalable infrastructure that aligns with national decarbonisation plans. The addition of McCormack Drilling has positioned OCU Energy as one of the largest horizontal directional drilling (HDD) companies in Europe. HDD is critical in delivering services in both complex urban and rural, environmentally sensitive areas. This acquisition strengthens our self-delivery model and ensures greater control of key construction interfaces.

OCU Energy’s focus remains on the disciplined delivery of the UK’s energy
transition. Whether we’re building infrastructure programs or enabling rapid connections, our teams operate with uncompromising safety, professionalism, technical depth and a shared commitment to helping clients deliver net zero. We are continuing to grow, with performance and excellence at the core.
capabilities in engineering design, digital systems, safety, training, and program governance.
This year saw the continued expansion of our engineering reach, the refinement of our sub‑business unit model, and the integration of acquired businesses under a single energy‑focused brand, OCU Connect. We continue to support battery energy storage systems (BESS), private wire networks, EV infrastructure, HVDC onshore, and the grid infrastructure required to enable growth in renewable energy.
